A sense of place
Architecture, food and experiences respond to each setting rather than repeating one template.

One place. One feeling. Entirely its own.
From Athenian coastline to Rwandan forest and private Maldivian island, each One&Only begins with its setting—not a repeated resort formula.
One&Only Mandarina · Riviera Nayarit, Mexico
A collection without a repeated formula
One place. One feeling. Entirely its own.
One&Only is most useful when read as a collection of places rather than a single hotel style. A city stay in Dubai, a cliffside villa on Kéa and a forest lodge in Rwanda ask for different journeys. Farr helps you understand those differences, choose the setting that suits you and build the practical details around it.
The destination is not a backdrop. It is the beginning of the story.
Architecture, food and experiences respond to each setting rather than repeating one template.
Rooms, villas, treehouses, cabins and private-island stays create very different ways to retreat.
Several resorts pair naturally with a city, island or wider regional itinerary.
Board basis, transfers, experiences and seasonal operation vary and are checked for every proposal.

Exceptional by nature
The strongest One&Only recommendation starts with where you want to be and how you want an ordinary day to feel. We compare the journey, setting, accommodation, food and pace before the brand name enters the decision.
Explore by region
Start with the place, then compare the resorts within it.

A more personal choice
Choose the atmosphere that sounds closest. This is a considered starting point, not a ranking.
For long horizons, water and the sense that the resort is a world of its own.
When galleries, architecture, food and neighbourhoods should remain part of the trip.
For landscapes and experiences that deserve careful, season-aware planning.
Resorts with space to plan for children or several generations without treating every family alike.
For spa, movement and enough room in the itinerary to genuinely switch pace.

Looking ahead
Officially announced future One&Only developments are shown separately and are not included in the open-resort count.
Wild places, planned responsibly
Gorilla’s Nest, Moonlight Basin and Mandarina are not interchangeable ‘nature resorts’. Rwanda requires careful permit and guiding plans, Montana changes profoundly by season, and Riviera Nayarit brings rainforest to the Pacific. We make those realities part of the recommendation.

Food with context
One&Only restaurants and bars differ by property. Rather than promise a collection-wide formula, we check the current venue pattern, the board basis attached to your room and the destination dining worth leaving the resort for.
Wellbeing, without overfilling the day
Guerlain Spa in Greece, Chenot Espace in Montenegro and nature-led wellbeing elsewhere each bring a different approach. We can build treatments into the stay while protecting the unstructured time that makes a retreat feel restorative.

Journeys, not just stays
These are thoughtful routes to discuss with a Farr specialist, not fixed packages.

Greece · city, coast, island
Begin with culture and the Athenian Riviera, then continue by sea or air to the slower rhythm of Kéa.
Plan a Greek journey
Mexico · two Pacific moods
Pair Mandarina’s rainforest and beach with Palmilla’s long-established Los Cabos setting and swimmable coastline.
Plan a Mexico journey
Dubai · beach, Palm, city
Choose Royal Mirage for gardens and beach, The Palm for a smaller beachfront retreat, or One Za’abeel when the city itself is the purpose of the stay.

Frequently asked questions
The official One&Only destination directory lists thirteen open resorts as of 1 October 2026. Announced future developments are shown separately and are not included in that count.
Not as a universal collection rule. Board basis, dining, drinks and resort benefits vary by property, room and offer. Your Farr proposal will state exactly what is included.
There is no useful universal winner. The right choice depends on the destination, season, travelling party, room style and how you want an ordinary day to feel. Farr can turn those preferences into a small, explained shortlist.
Several properties welcome families and can suit multi-generational travel, while the rhythm and facilities vary. We check current age guidance, room occupancy, connecting options and relevant programmes for the chosen resort.
Yes, where the route adds value. Athens and Kéa, Riviera Nayarit and Los Cabos, or a wider African journey are examples; transport and pacing still need to be considered carefully.
Farr can help plan the wider Rwanda itinerary and confirm the applicable permit, guide and transfer arrangements. Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed, and permits are only included when explicitly stated in the proposal.
No. The official resort presents winter skiing and summer activities including trails and riding. Exact activities depend on season, weather and current operating dates.
Yes. Flights, appropriate transfers and any multi-centre journey can be planned around the resort stay as one itinerary.
Only officially announced developments are shown, with their stated timing and a clear future label. They are never mixed into the open-resort count or presented as available to book.
