Lower Keys

Ask us about when to go

Summer
Hotter and more humid; water time can appeal but flexible planning is essential.
Autumn
A quieter feel is balanced by tropical weather risk.
Hurricane season
The official Atlantic season runs 1 June to 30 November; cover and current advice matter.

Ask us about plan it well
Choose the main purpose
Water, seclusion, road-trip scenery, culture or a balanced mix.
Select the island rhythm
One base can be more rewarding than frequent packing.
Drive in daylight
Protect the scenery and reduce pressure on an unfamiliar route.

Weather and marine conditions can change.
Keep Key West realistic
Stay long enough to experience more than one sunset.

Link Miami thoughtfully
The city and Keys work beautifully when neither is rushed.
Keys answers
Keys questions, answered.
Practical answers for an island journey.
Ask us about faqWhich Key should we stay on?
Key Largo suits water-led access, Islamorada a refined island mood, Marathon family practicality, the Lower Keys quiet nature, and Key West history and evenings.
Should we drive the full Overseas Highway?
It can be a defining experience, but it is better in daylight and with enough time to stop or stay. A rushed return journey weakens it.
How long should we spend in Key West?
Two to four nights suits many travellers, depending on whether Key West is the main destination or the final chapter of a longer Keys route.
Are the Keys good for beaches?
The Keys are best known for water, boating, reefs and island atmosphere rather than uninterrupted broad sandy beaches. Choose the exact property and shore carefully.
Can wildlife sightings be guaranteed?
No. We use responsible operators and plan for the experience and landscape, never a guaranteed wild encounter.
