The destination, considered

A different pace of discovery.

Phuket’s coastal retreats can be the whole holiday or one part of a wider Thai journey. Consider how much time you want for culture, dining and beach life before choosing the sequence of your stay.

Your personal concierge helps you compare the setting, the accommodation and the practical details, then handles your booking from start to finish.

The destination, properly understood

Thailand,
in greater detail.

Thailand works beautifully as a city-and-beach journey, but Bangkok, the north and the southern coasts each deserve enough time to feel distinct.

Where to stay

Four distinct ways
to experience it.

River, neighbourhoods and contemporary energy

Bangkok

The Chao Phraya river is a useful organising line for temples, historic districts and leading hotels. Allow time for modern dining and design as well as headline sights.

Resort choice with onward islands

Phuket & the Andaman coast

Phuket ranges from busy resort areas to quieter west-coast bays. It is also a gateway towards Phang Nga, Krabi and Andaman islands.

Island resorts and different seasonality

Koh Samui & the Gulf

Samui’s Gulf location means its rainfall pattern differs from Phuket’s. Resort areas also vary greatly in density and nightlife.

Lanna culture and mountain landscape

Chiang Mai & the north

Temples, craft, food and the surrounding mountains create a compelling inland chapter, particularly when guided responsibly.

What to do

Experiences with
real sense of place.

Signature experience

Use the river in Bangkok

Boats can connect key areas while giving the city a clearer sense of place.

Signature experience

Choose ethical wildlife experiences

Avoid venues offering direct handling, performances or exploitative encounters; favour reputable conservation-led organisations.

Signature experience

Eat with a specialist

A guided market or neighbourhood food experience gives useful context and supports smaller businesses.

Signature experience

Match coast to month

Andaman and Gulf coasts have different monsoon patterns; choose region after dates are known.

When to go

Use the season,
not just the date.

November–February

Generally the coolest and driest period for Bangkok and much of the north; also popular on the Andaman coast.

March–May

Hot conditions across much of the country. Air quality can be a concern in parts of the north during burning season.

June–October

Southwest monsoon affects much of Thailand, but rainfall and sea conditions vary substantially by coast.

Gulf islands

Koh Samui and neighbouring islands have a different pattern, often with wetter conditions later in the year.

Plan it well

Details that change the holiday.

  1. Do not treat all southern beaches as interchangeable: transfer, sea conditions and resort development differ.
  2. Use reputable, licensed operators for boats, diving and wildlife experiences.
  3. Check current health, entry and regional safety advice before travel.

Destination information checked against Tourism Authority of Thailand. Entry rules, safety advice and local conditions can change: review the current UK government travel advice before booking and departure.

A stay to consider · Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

River life before island time.

A Chao Phraya riverside stay gives a Bangkok-and-Phuket journey two distinct chapters. Begin with city days from Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, then consider Amanpuri for a quieter beach setting.

At Bangkok, selected room categories have private balconies. The Deluxe One Bedroom Suite provides separate living and dining space with a balcony. Tell us whether your city stay calls for a generous suite or more time out exploring; flights and transfers should fit the pace you choose.

A journey idea to discuss

City first, coast afterwards

A Bangkok stay followed by Phuket is an idea to discuss, with the balance adapted to your available time. Leave room after the onward flight to settle into the resort instead of planning every hour.

An idea for your enquiry, not a fixed itinerary. Your proposal will confirm the arrangements and availability.

Before you choose

The details
that matter.

Different regions and coasts need separate seasonal consideration. Tell us if wellness, dining, diving or family time is the priority. For villas, discuss bedroom layouts and the balance between privacy and access to resort facilities.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Your preferred dates, departure airport, number of adults and children, approximate budget and the kind of accommodation you enjoy. Mention any must-haves so they guide the shortlist.

Can you suggest somewhere beyond this collection?

Yes, use the enquiry to tell us what you have in mind. The collection is a starting point; we can discuss other possibilities and establish what is available through the relevant providers.
